ATRON, on behalf of TRAD, expert in the radiation effects in Space, Nuclear and Medical, carries out irradiation with a mono-energetic electron beam.
Wide ranges of energy and fluency available to FELIX, the ATRON's accelerator, meet a variety of needs. The latest is based on irradiation of samples in a study conducted by TRAD.
The target fluence was reached after one hour of irradiation, with an expanded uncertainty of only 6%. Samples were treated in vacuum by means of a homogeneous sweep of the beam over an adjusted surface while the test objects were maintained at controlled temperature.
